BN & PAS Talks...For Real ?...Or Just Another Dirty BN Tactic ?

BN recently had the talks they proposed with PAS . Their discussions were about Malay unity and Islam . BN is the ruling coalition while PAS is in the opposition which also consists of PKR and DAP .

I feel that all this is just another dirty trick of BN to rock the relationship of the opposition so that they can call for a snap election before September 16(Anwar claims to form a new government by this date) if all the other alternatives to kill the opposition fails .

BN also suggested to dissolve BN and PAS and form a new Islamic-based party to unite the Malays...What a stupid suggestion..for the past 51 years..what was the purpose of BN being around in the first place ?...just look at the name UMNO..it stands for UNITED MALAYS National Organisation .

BN talks about Malay unity...but what about Malaysian unity ?...Have they thought of that ?...I doubt it..their just to busy trying to save themselves from prison and losing their power . This is just another attempt to provoke the Malays to go against the opposition as many of them turned their backs on BN in the last elections .

BN has not really been successful to bring down Anwar Ibrahim as the same tactics 10 years ago are not so effective now . This is probably BN's last chance to bring down the opposition . Ever since the elections ended , BN has been too busy trying to bring down the opposition without giving them a chance...see what it caused..drop in economy and rising inflation and crime rates .

The next two months will be very crucial for Malaysia . Now is not the time for the people to fight or argue . Now is the time to unite . As the saying goes..bersatu teguh , bercerai roboh (when together we're strong , when apart we fall) .

Evidence That Saiful Was Never Sodomised by Anwar ! !

Raja Petra Kamaruddin (RPK) has leaked the medical reports of tests done on Saiful . The medical examination was done by Dr. Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid at Hospital Pusrawi . According to RPK , on 28 June 2008 , Saiful went to see this doctor and complained about anal pains . The doctor examined him and found no evidence that he had been sodomised . The doctor’s report says that there is zero (0) skin tearing , zero (0) active bleeding , zero (0) traces of pus, etc., . This basically means he can’t be suffering from a pain in the anus as he alleges . The doctor’s diagnosis is that he rules out or TRO (to rule out) assault (sodomised) .

Now we can only hope the 1998 story won't repeat where the first medical report which stated that the victim was not sodomised by Anwar was rejected in court . They hired another doctor to make a new medical report concluding that Anwar sodomised the victim .

Now the government is searching for the doctor...hmm...I "wonder" why ?..The doctor is now in hiding with his family...Just like the Bala guy who disappeared after making the statutory declaration in the Altantuya case .

The way I see it , there are a few possible scenarios that can happen after this :-

1 . The crooks will put a new judge to reject the evidence like in 1998 and the crooks will hire another doctor to fake a report .

2 . The crooks will hire some fake witnesses to bullshit in court..Imagine someone saying in court..'I saw Anwar sodomise Saiful !! ' .

3 . Justice will be served....I hope .

Unfair Handing Out of Scholarships

There are many deserving yet deprived students today who need scholarships to pursue their tertiary education. Quite a number of my schoolmates who are brilliant students who were also active in cocuricular activities did not get scholarships. I have seen this for myself since I finished my form 5.

There are a few problems I see in this issue. One of them is because of the unfair and barely transparent way of handing out scholarships...especially by government organisations such as the PSD (Public Service Department) a.k.a. JPA. Students , parents nor the public are fully informed about the assessment process during the interviews or the exact criteria’s that need to be fulfilled.

It’s very common to hear stories like student who get 3A's out of 10 subjects with hardly any cocuricular activities to get a scholarship while a straight A student who is active in cocuricular activities does not get one. Unfair isn't it..Which one of those two students do you think will be able to make a greater contribution to the nation ?

I feel that the core of this problem is the standards of the SPM examination. The questions are sometimes too simple and the marking standards are very low. That is why it’s no longer a surprise to hear thousands of students getting straight A’s and some even getting 15 to 20 A’s…all for the hope of getting a scholarship. This is competition in a wrong way.

The standards of SPM should be increased along with the marking standards. Only then will a student’s true potential stand out. This is the only way to see who are the real bright students of our nation and who really deserves a scholarship.

Another reason is race-based politics. Politicians like to set quota’s of scholarships to Malay and non-Malay students. They use the excuse of Malay special rights in their argument which I think is lame. It’s basic human rights that every human being has a right to an education or scholarship regardless of race , religion , gender or nationality.

For example, recently Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) argued with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz that the ratio of government scholarships to non-Malays should not be decreased to protect the rights of the Malays as said in Article 153 of the Federal Constitution..but it’s not stated anywhere in the constitution about any form of ratio on rights and privileges in the case of scholarships that should be given to Bumi’s or non-Bumi’s.

Previously the percentage ratio of scholarships to Malays and non-Malays was 80:20. Now the government has increased it to 55:45 which is much more fair. What does race have to do with scholarships ?..it’s irrelevant. Datuk Tajuddin is just depriving the basic human rights of non-Malays. When it comes to education , everything should be equal.

Another problem lies in the interview. For this part, I have interviewed a friend of mine who went for the JPA interview. Firstly, the application form asks irrelevant things like race and religion. Irrelevant questions are also asked during the interview. Students are asked to explain their school life, how they would portray Malaysia overseas, and which parts of Malaysia the students would take foreigners to visit. What sort of questions are those ?!...their students..not tour guides.

To give out scholarships, the assessment and criteria should be based on meritocracy, academic excellence and cocurricular activities ..and not by race. This is what counts in a student…not his tour-guiding skills.

I mentioned earlier that no one should be deprived of scholarships…but in my opinion , in today’s competitive world, rich kids should not be given scholarships…here me out first . It’s common to see rich students regardless of their academic results or other criteria’s getting scholarships…especially children of ministers in the government.

I have a very trustworthy source who informed me about two kids of two ministers in the government who got scholarships because their parents just made a phone call to the JPA guys…but I will not mention their names. I feel that scholarships should be given to students who can’t afford their tertiary education…not to students who have parents who can afford to sponsor the education of five other students. Help should be given to those who really need it.

Malaysia is facing a serious brain-drain problem due to all this. This is where all the smart one’s go overseas to study and work. It happens because they get scholarships from universities overseas. Some students get scholarships from private companies here such as Shell and Honda and they study in better private universities locally or abroad. So Malaysia is losing many of their smart students to foreign countries. Universities abroad don’t care about your race, they just want your skills and they pay you very well for it.

I hope this problem will be fixed as soon as possible. Many things have to be solved in the handing out of scholarships. Only then will Malaysia be able to compete with the world.

Waste of Taxpayer's money and a Disgusting Comment

Recently , the federal government has been all out against the Terengganu government for purchasing 14 Mercedes-Benz E200 Kompressors to be used as state official cars . Cost of purchase was RM 3.43 million...which is the money of the state government...I feel sorry for the people in Terengganu...the taxes they pay is used for ministers to buy Mercedes cars instead of developing the state or reducing the people's financial burden with rising food and oil prices . They say that the maintenance cost of the Perdana's was RM 1.15 million from 2004 until now...and even Proton is denying those figures . The excuse for purchasing the cars was to replace their old Proton Perdana's...even though the federal government has announced long ago that all ministers must use a Proton Perdana . Terengganu Menteri Besar (Chief Executive) Datuk Ahmad Said (pictured) says that the cost of maintenance of the Perdana's were too high and the cars were old...and today he says that they wanted a safer car .

He also said that the Mercedes E200 was more fuel economical...Mercedes E Class more fuel economical than a Perdana ?!...since when ?...does he know that the maintenance of a Mercedes is way higher than a Proton ?...Mercedes spare parts are one of the most expensive in Malaysia!!...and for a safe and economical car ?...couldn't they get a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord...or a new Perdana ?...the Camry and Accord are definitely more fuel economical and cheaper to maintain than a Mercedes E Class .

The sickening part is the Dato in the picture said that he still keeps his 18 year old Mercedes car...When the press asked why...his reply was "Kalau bini masih cantik, buat apa tukar?" (If the wife is still beautiful, why change?)...isn't that sickening to you ?..just shows the low class mentality of this man who is a Menteri Besar..comparing a wife to his car..also shows how much respect he has for women .

Dato Badawi's Silly Comment About DNA

On July 18 2008 , our Prime Minister Dato Badawi gave a statement that the authorities needed a fresh sample of DNA from Dato Anwar Ibrahim . The reason given by Badawi was because the existing sample 10 years ago was too old .

Wow..our PM...new CSI member.. ;) ..

I'm no scientist..but you don't need a scientist to tell you that DNA can last for millions of years if preserved correctly .

Ever saw Jurassic Park ?...the scene where scientists extracted blood from a little mosquito that bit the dinosaur and had dinosaur DNA in its blood, nicely preserved in a tree sap ?

Is Badawi trying to say that Anwar's old DNA has changed ?...has it mutated ?...is Anwar an alien ?...hmm...you never know what BN have up their sleeves .

Besides , if a person's DNA kept mutating every few years , many crime cases wouldn't have been solved by the police..does Badawi think that criminals had to be interrogated many times to get the "latest version" of their DNA ??

What Did the Road Blocks Achieve ?

Our Home Minister , Dato Syed Hamid Albar issued the police to set up road blocks at 12 roads in Kuala Lumpur on Monday of July 14 2008 ...Imagine that on a Monday morning...This was done to prevent a protest by the Pakatan Rakyat (Opposition Party) at Parliament .

DAP (Democratic Action Party) adviser , Lim Kit Siang says that this caused great financial losses and inconvenience for hundreds of thousands of people based on rubbish intelligence about a non-existent high-level Pakatan Rakyat leadership meeting, two speeches, two blogs and two SMSes . His statements can be seen here .

One thing for sure is that these massive road blocks did more harm than good . Here are a few complaints made by the public which can be seen here .

1 . The city's productivity's were halted for at least four hours, which in monetary sense means in the tune of hundreds of millions of Ringgit .

2 . Unnecessary burning of fossil fuel (that's petrol) over the same period of time .

3 . The rage and anger sitting in a car for hours for no apparent reason .

4 . Students at Malaya University missed their CLP (Certificate of Legal Practice) exam . This exam is in its final year and will not be repeated from next year onwards .

5 . People late for work and school children late for school .

6 . Ambulances couldn't get to patients or get patients to hospitals quickly.

7 . The sick couldn't get to clinics for treatment and doctors couldn't get to clinics to treat the sick .

8 . Patients who had waited weeks for an appointment in government hospitals couldn't get to the hospital and will now have to wait for even more weeks for another appointment .

9 . Operating staff couldn't get to hospitals on time , resulting in operations being postponed and lengthening the already overly-long surgical waiting lists in government hospitals .

At the end of the day , were the road blocks worth it ?

How much damage would a few hundred, or even a few thousand people demonstrating outside parliament have caused ?

I say none...because from the past , judging from the Hindraf & Bersih rally's , I think it's quite obvious that things only get violent when the people are provoked by the police .

- Learn to live on less then your income

What about a global economic recession ?

- Same thing as all that's mentioned above...just that it happens to many countries globally at the same time

- Other countries are affected such as in a situation where economic giants like USA is hit by a recession...which is happening right NOW

Stop Discriminating , Stop Fighting , Stop Arguing , and Unite

A few decades ago , Malaysia was different . I'm talking in terms of unity . People of different races and religions were much more united back then compared to today . Malays , Chinese and Indians mixed around and played together so well . They were truly Malaysians back in the day . We did not see each other's colour as it didn't matter .

However , through the years , people slowly got divided and were only sticking to their own race . Why ?...I personally think it is because of politics in which certain politicians had their own agenda's and wanted power . They put themselves first before the people and nation . Slowly this resulted in disunity among the people .

Now we hardly see young children mixing with other races . Even at school level they only mix with their own race . Now , we're classifying ourselves as Malay , Chinese or Indian . This is just not right . We are all Malaysians .

All it takes is a simple change in mindset . Forget about the politicians who are always fighting among and for themselves to get power . Don't assume everything they say is true . Truth is the way you see it in your own perception . Think for yourself and form your own opinions . So lets just set aside our differences and unite for our own sake and also for the future of our nation .

Irrelevant Working Criteria to Do Your Job

PAS is the party that runs the state of Kelantan and Kedah . They announced a few days ago that they would now consider appointing Muslim state civil servants, village heads and elected representatives who pray daily .

It was stated that saying prayers and religious practices would be factors of consideration when weighing promotions for civil servants in Kelantan . Will it ensure that those selected are morally upright and will refrain from corrupt practices and immoral activities ?

I feel sorry for the people in Kelantan . They are duped to believe that your praying practices will get you appointed or promoted and not your own credentials or ability. How does your head of department or the person who appoints you or the one who promotes you know how good a Muslim you are ?...What about the appointment or promotion of non-Muslims ?...How is this criteria relevant to how you do your work ?

You can be a good Muslim for the world to see...but for God it is not what you pretend to be , but your actions , deeds, thoughts and closeness to God. Outwardly you may not look like a good Muslim , but God knows you are nearer to him. It is between you and God as your relationship with God is a very intimate and personal thing .

Please don't take this as an insult to Muslims . I am trying to show that this is not the way to appoint or promote people to do their jobs . I apologise if this offends you .

Gobind Asks Question,Gets Suspended, Bung Mukthar's Hand Gesture, Not Suspended

A few weeks ago , the MP of Puchong , Mr. Gobind Singh Deo was suspended from attending Parliament meetings for two days . This action was taken immediately by the Speaker , Pandikar Amin Mulia (chosen by BN) because he didn't like the question Mr. Singh asked . For those who don't know , the speaker is the person in parliament who controls the situation in parliament meetings and gives permission to those who want to speak .

Two days ago , the MP of Kinabatangan , Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN) showed a rude hand gesture to another MP (opposition) during a parliament meeting...but no action was taken by the Speaker immediately . In fact , they are "still thinking" of the action that should be taken against him .

This is so unfair . Gobind just asked a question without any profanity or rude gestures...yet he was suspended immediately . Datuk Bung shows a rude gesture and nothing happens to him . Where is the justice ?...Check out the rude hand gesture at 1:22 .

"Smart Comment" by Dato Seri Syed Hamid Albar

Recently , our Home Minister Dato Seri Syed Hamid Albar made a "smart" statement on TV . Regarding private investigator Mr. P. Balasubramaniam who is missing , Dato said that he thinks Mr. Bala is "alright and must be safe" because nobody has seen or heard anything about him '.

What is that suppose to mean ? Can he say the same thing about the late Altantuya ? Nobody saw or heard of her again after her sad fate . Does that mean that she was safe ?..Obviously not...because she was shot and blown up with explosives .

RM 428 Million to Build Mosques...RM 8 Million for Temples and Churches

In the NST of 04.07.08 , Minister in the Prime Minister's department Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom stated that the government has allocated RM436 Million from 2005 to 2008 for the construction of mosques, temples & churches nationwide . From this sum , RM428 million is for for the construction of mosques and RM8 million is for for building Hindu temples ,Chinese temples and churches from 2005 to 2008 .

In a 60/40 population , 428 million versus 8 million doesn’t look balanced now does it...and that is just between 2005 and 2008 .

Lets do the maths..

RM428 Million allocated to mosques. RM8 Million allocated to temples and churches.

Also equivalent to:-

98.16% for mosques 1.83% for temples and churches

428/ 42 months (from Jan 2005 until June 2008) = 10.19 million per month. 8/42 months = 190,000 per month. That means mosques get 53.63 times more than other places of worship month-wise. Over the said period, its 53.5 times more than the allocation for temples and churches .

Bear in mind that this amount is to be shared between temples (Hindus, Buddhists, Taoist?) and churches .

Is this fair at all ?....Please don't take this as an insult to Muslims...I'm showing how money as been unfairly allocated for a good cause. I apologise if I have offended anyone .

  Singapore is known to be clean and efficient as well as an international port and a world-class financial centre in South-East Asia .

  When we mention Malaysia , foreigners are not as attracted as before to work , play or do business here...unless political jostling , corruption and throwing wild accusations are what Malaysians want to be known for to the world . Moreover , lately we have been making headlines worldwide for all the wrong reasons .

To foreigners well acquainted with Malaysia, they say the country is a hidden gem waiting to be polished and discovered, as it has many attractive features such as beautiful beaches and resorts, good infrastructure, affordable cost of living, and a skilled workforce with the ability to speak several languages.

  They also say the country is strategically located in the heart of South-East Asia, making it an obvious choice for multi-nationals with regional businesses to be headquartered here. Yet , it is unfortunate that we have not fully capitalised on the opportunity even after 50 years of independence to tell the world that Malaysia is more than a destination for rest and recreation . However, before we start branding ourselves in this way, it’s best that we get our act together to ensure that our public delivery system and service is up to international standards.
